2018 Submissions - The Story So Far

January:

The year starts with a Triangle Choke from Kyung Ho Kang at UFC Fight Night: Stephens vs. Choi. That’s a much needed boost for the Triangle Choke Statistics, especially given that there were only 2 Triangle Chokes recorded in the whole of 2017.

UFC 220 : Miocic vs. Ngannou is a complete was out in terms of submissions without a single one being recorded on the card. But there is another Rear Naked Choke recorded on the UFC on Fox: Jacaré vs. Brunson 2 card.

February:

The ladies come to the rescue at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Anders with Polyana Viana and Valentina Shevchenko recording a Rear Naked Choke each. Once again the Rear Naked Choke is off to its dominant start – it’s already scored 4 wins vs just 1 win for all other submissions.
